Spring, Summer, Fall, 2006: WDSM Seeks Volunteer Gardeners:
The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum in Wethersfield, Connecticut is seeking volunteer gardeners one Saturday a month, April through October, to help maintain the Colonial Revival garden and the courtyard garden at the Webb House as well as the herb garden at the Stevens House.

Please come and join our group of enthusiastic gardeners, who work as a team-sharing camaraderie and knowledge while caring for the restored historic gardens at the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum.

May 20,21: The 225nd Washington / Rochambeau Meeting Reinactment!:

MAY 20-21: The Town of Wethersfield will celebrate and commemorate the 225th anniversary of George Washington's pivotal conference with the commander of the French expeditionary forces, Comte de Rochambeau, that led to the British defeat at Yorktown. 6/17/06: Capture Connecticut Heritage: Att: Artists & Visitors!:
On Saturday in June 17 the Keeney Memorial at 200 Main Street in Wethersfield, CT will be the venue of a special exhibition of original art celebrating Connecticut heritage. The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum, in conjunction with the National Society of the Colonial Dames in the state of Connecticut, has invited artists to “Capture Connecticut Heritage” in collage, paint, photography or other original art.

This unique exhibit and sale will be open free to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 17th. Across the street, at 211 Main Street, the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum, where the Comte de Rochambeau and General George Washington planned the 1781 summer/ fall campaign that culminated with the siege of Yorktown, ending the Revolutionary War, will be open for tours (last tour at 3:00 p.m.).

This spring the State of Connecticut, the Webb-Deane-Stevens-Museum, and many Patriotic Societies and Historical Societies are commemorating Rochambeau’s journey across the state from Newport, Rhode Island to New York, and eventually to Virginia.
