The "Scarecrows along Main Street" in Wethersfield, CT, is a community enriching activity of the "Olde Wethersfield Shopkeepers Association." "SAMS" is eagerly anticipated and awaited by potential participants (scarecrow artists) and visitors to the olde village alike. This year the SAMS exhibit has received some unanticipated recognition and promotion from a couple of national and region travel magazine, attesting to its prior successes.

Wethersfield.net has visited the exhibit faithfully for the past several years and offered here its own review of this autumnal local event. SAMS 2003 has come in gone. Our review serves as a reminder of the highlights of this year's event. The weather during the three wees of the display (9/27-10/18/2003) was not always cooperative and did work to the detriment of increasing pedestrian visitors to the enter of the olde towne. However, it did not dampen the enjoyment and enthusiasm of those who did participate and visit.

Wethersfield.net is unaffiliated with the Old Wethersfield Shopkeepers association but we recognize the benefits which OWSA brings to the heart of Wethersfield, its "village" and to community we call home.
