The playground equipment at Mikey's Place was designed and manufactured in detail by Landscape Structures, Inc., of Delano, Minnesota. It was purchased through a distributor in Medford, Massachusetts: M.E. O'Brien & Son, Inc. O'Brien and Son assigned Peter Wallace (a.k.a. Playground Pete!) to oversee the project directly and indirectly. A site supervisor, Ed Dwyer, associated with Mountain View Landscaping was retained by O'Brien for this special project. One of Wethersfield's own, Tom Linden, volunteered all of his services as a landscape architect. Tireless, Tom took the dream and the land and molded them into a plan for laying out the playscape.

"Truck loads of parts covered the land adjacent to the site. Volunteers during the next three weeks whittled away at these to assemble Mikey's Place. A separate tent just for organizing and distributing the smaller parts was nearby."

"Site Preparations are underway!"A myriad of holes had to be bored to accept the footings of the towers, swings, and other components of the playscape.

There were problems along the way, when some of the holes already bored did not align with the needs of the playscape: oops! Delays arose.

"Ed Dwyer, installation consultant, kept a watchful eye on the installation "dance" going on at Mikey's Place. If a part was missing, they just had to "ask Ed."

"Karen Gove, parts specialist, was one of several people who helped locate and dispense the appropriate parts on demand over the course of three weekends. "
