On Cable Tonight
WETHERSFIELD - A documentary chronicling the community's in- volvement in building a handicap- ped accessible playscape in Stan- dish Park will air tonight on cox Cable Channel 15.
In past weeks, hundreds of residents have turned up at the park to help build the $200,000 playscape, called Mikey's Place.
The video will show how resi- dents worked, sometimes until dark, to put together slides, a sandtable, a mimi-theater and learning walls for interactive play.
The idea to build the playscape came after Mary and Dan Daversa sought a way to memo- rialize their son, michael "Mikey" Daversa, who died at age 2 after being diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy.
The documentary, produced and directed by town resident Paul aloi, is scheduled to air at 8p.m.
