The Daversa Family (Mare, Dan and Danielle) invites you, neighbors, friends and fans of Mikey's Place to join them in its annual Spring Spruce-up of Mikey's Place this Friday, May 22 in Standish Park in Old Wethersfield, from 5:00 PM.

Mikey's Place is located at the intersection of Nott Street and Garden Street.

Family, friends, fans and volunteers are reminded to dress in casual or work clothes and to bring such accessories as gardening tools, rakes, brooms, pruning shears, etc., and a friendly disposition and community spirit.

A post-cleanup pizza and beverage snack will be provided. A rain-date has not been chosen yet.

Mikey's Place is a universally accessible playground for children and youth erected with widespread community support of the family's commemoration of 2 year-old son Michael James Daversa who succumbed to spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) on May 19, 1998.

Built in 2000, Mikey's Place has served children and their parents and caregivers of Wethersfield and the region nine years now. The extended Daversa family and their friends are dedicated to keeping Mikey's Place "a happy place for every face" in perpetuity.

Mikey's family also encourages golfers and supporters to participating in the Mikey's Place 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament (Goodwin Golf Course, Hartford/Wethersfield) on June 27th. Details
